Um ehrlich zu sein, hasse ich es, im Sommer einkaufen zu gehen.

Wenn ich in einem Laden stehe, dann kann es draußen 40°C haben, und das, was mir am Besten gefällt, ist immer noch ein Pulli, oder soetwas in der Art.

Ich mag es nicht besonders, Hotpants zu tragen, wenn ich nicht muss, weil ich sonst schmelzen würde, und es widerstrebt mir ein Top ohne Cardigan zu tragen.

Am schlimmsten sind aber Schuhe.

Sommerschuhe sind das Grauen für mich.

Ich finde Flip-Flops, Sandalen und was es sonst so gibt einfach grauenhaft an mir.

Des wegen sind meine Sandalen dieses Jahr wohl auch noch weitestgehend ungetragen ...

Ballerinas, OK, aber am liebsten habe ich Stiefeletten, Schnürer und Loafers.

Oder eben barfuß, so oft und viel es geht, aber in der Öffentlichkeit ist das ja bekanntlich schlecht.

Woher das kommt? Keine Ahnung!

Jedenfalls ist es so.

Deshalb ist es wohl auch schon seit ein paar Jahren bei mir Tradition geworden, im Sommerurlaub Anfang August diverse Modezeitschriften für September zu kaufen.

Und während den anderen das Eis noch in der Waffel wegschmilzt, sitze ich mit Skizzenbuch und Hochglanzmagazinen im Schatten und Plane die Neuordnung meiner Garderobe für den Herbst.

To be honest, I hate shopping in summer.

Even if it's 40°C outside, what I like best is knit pullovers or a pair of jeans.

I can't say I like wearing hot-pants or tank-tops. It's just a matter of fact that I'd get a heat stroke if I didn't.

But the worst thing is shopping for shoes.

I hate having to wear flip-flops, sandals and such.

Flats are fine with me, but ankle-boots, sneakers and loafers are even better.

So my solution is walking around barefoot as much as possible. In public this isn't really an option, though.

Maybe all that is the reason why it has become my personal tradition to start buying fashion magazines and studying the runway looks of the upcoming season when I'm still on summer vacations in august.

While others eat their ice-cream in the summer heat, I'm sitting in the shadows, already planing my wardrobe additions for the cooler days to come.
